"Verde Esmeralda" by Malana Indonesia

Let me take you to a garden,
a beautiful garden where all you can see is beds of flower bloom.
Pastel colours of the flower petals hide in your eyes
behind a pile of leafs that build a huge green carpet all accross your eyes.

That's how I see in the latest collection of Malana Indonesia in Indonesia Islamic Fashion Fair 2013.
Flower prints, satin, and a huge flower headpiece
are the second main attraction on the show.
It is the choice of colours that will grab your eyes.
The designers of Malana Indonesia chose various gradations of green to dominate the collection.
I actually didn't like the choice because it makes the dresses look heavy and too much clashes between the prints and the color-block.
But I saw a twist in it.
While some other designers use floral prints as their inspiration,
Malana Indonesia pick an unusual element of the flower garden.
It's the green leaf.
The element that left behind by most of the people when they admire the beauty of flowers.

From Malana Indonesia, I learn that inspiration can come from everywhere,
even from something that often got left behind.

It's green.

Greeeeen!

Green is everywhere!

A huge headpiece that actually didn't match the dress, but nice try

"Grecian Memoirs" by Amalina Aman

Inspired by classical Greece and a sweet taste of modern fashion,
Amalina Aman brings her brilliant designs into Indonesia's fashion scheme.
Dominated with soft chiffon and pure white materials,
"Grecian Memoirs" framed the whole old Greek fashion
into a moslemwear collection.
The blinking gold and silver gives a touch of glamour,
and a black dress became the twist.

I love how Aman translates the old Greece fashion into
some wearable moslem dresses.
The simplicity in it makes the dress less-depressing and more loveable than
silky-blinking kaftan wore by some Indonesian celebrities on Ramadhan season last year.
Aman's dresses changes my view of kaftan dresses that used to be so boring and too glamorous like what Syahrini and Ashanty shows in front of papparazzi's cameras.

Here's Amalina Aman in Indonesia Islamic Fashion Fair 2013.

The hoodie is sooooo hype right now in Indonesia!

The black dress gives a twist on the whole collection

The softness of the material gives a pretty view when the model swings

These are so old-fashioned choice of colours, actually, but still wearable and loveable.
